Carolyn Hampton awarded TRB Best Paper in Roadside Safety

Carolyn Hampton has been awarded the 2010 Best Paper Award in Roadside Safety by the Transportation Research Board (TRB). 

Carolyn presented her paper, “Limits of Acceptable Rail and Post Deflection in Crash-Damaged Strong-Post W-Beam Guardrail” at the TRB 89th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.  She is a PhD student at Virginia Tech – Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences. Her advisor is Dr. Gabler.
